Twelve Steps to the Perfect Finish

1. Wood Selection - The selection of the finest woods including oak, maple, cherry and hickory is the essential first step in Schrock's 12-step finishing process.
2. Sanded to Perfection - Our progressive sanding utilizes an ultra fine grit paper, both with and against the wood grain. This process is completed on a vacuum table, allowing for a perfect, satiny wood surface that is free of all dust particles.
3. Achieving Natural Wood Tone - Toner is applied to selective door styles, enhancing the naturalistic wood appearance.
   
4. Stain Application - An environmentally safe stain is evenly applied to all surfaces. This deep penetrating stain is hand-sprayed to ensure even coverage on all profiles. The staining of the wood is reviewed, eliminating any finishing imperfections.
5. Removal of Excess Stain - The wood is hand-wiped to remove excess stain, emphasizing the cabinet's natural wood grain. Each piece is inspected with care to meet our standards for beauty and quality.
6. Catalyzed Sealer - A tough, non-yellowing, catalyzed sealer is hand-sprayed onto the wood to protect the grain from moisture.
7. Hand-Sanded - To ensure an ultra-smooth finish, we hand-sand the material one last time.
   
8. Drying Process - For added durability, the sealed wood is either dried with open air or oven cured (depending on the style) to lock in the beauty of wood.
9. Dust Removal - A jet blower removes the majority of the loose dust particles from the surface of the wood. The wood is hand-wiped a final time using a "tacky" hand towel to remove all traces of dust particles prior to the varnishing stage.
10. Catalyzed Varnish - A premium quality catalyzed varnish is applied.
11. Oven Cured - A varnish to protect the wood against yellowing is oven cured at temperatures up to 180°
12. Final Inspection - This last inspection is very thorough with attention to every detail, ensuring quality and beauty.
